At Trinity Church, it is our joy to celebrate and witness the vows of marriage made between a man and a woman before God! Weddings at Trinity are conducted by our pastoral staff, and are preceded by a suitable time of premarital preparation and counseling.
The bride or groom should contact the pastor and make arrangements for the wedding date with enough time to allow for this period of counseling. At that time, an appointment for the first counseling session should also be made. The goal of the counseling and preparation period is to help a couple discern God’s will about the important decision of marriage and to pave the way for the best transition from single to married life. You will be included in our pastor’s and congregation’s prayers as you are making ready for this joyous and yet serious life change; we participate in weddings in order to worship and serve God through this ministry.
Because we view a church wedding as a worship service before the Lord that involves serious commitments before God, we do not “rent out” the church for weddings that are not conducted by our pastoral staff. The exception is when a couple is seeking to marry under the auspices of a church that does not have a sanctuary. Under these circumstances, we will share our sanctuary with the church that is celebrating the wedding; at the couple’s request our pastor will contact the couple’s pastor to make the initial arrangements. We reserve the right to have a staff member on site during your wedding.
FEES
- For a member or congregant currently active in our congregation, there are no fees for having your wedding in the church, although it is customary to make a donation to the pastor and to the church musician.
- For inactive or former members, a fee of $200 will be charged for building use, along with the customary donations to the pastor and the church musician.
- Please note that our church musician has ‘first right of refusal’ for weddings – in other words, it is expected that our musician will play at your wedding. If they are unavailable, you may make other arrangements. If you wish to make other arrangements instead of our musician even though he is available, the fee is $150.
- For congregations without a building who seek to use our sanctuary for a wedding, the building use fee will be $500.
